About Uttara Kannada
Uttara Kannada, also referred to as North Kanara or North Canara, is one of the largest districts in Karnataka, rich in natural resources. Only around 1.2 lakh hectares, roughly 10% of the total area, is utilized for agriculture and horticulture.
Uttara Kannada comprises 12 taluks: Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Siddapur, Yellapur, Mundgod, Haliyal, Supa (Joida), and Dandeli. The district ranks as the fifth-largest in Karnataka in terms of area.
