Raman Research Institute Recruitment:The Raman Research Institute (RRI), Bengaluru, a premier institute funded by the Government of India, Department of Science & Technology, has released Advt. No. 21/2025 dated 20 September 2025. The institute invites applications from highly qualified candidates for the post of Professor II through direct recruitment.

Raman Research Institute Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification

• Ph.D. in Physics / Astronomy & Astrophysics / Space Science or an allied field.
• Minimum 14 years of post-doctoral experience in relevant research areas.

Desirable Qualification

• Proven leadership and vision in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
• Ability to initiate and guide major space science research programs.
• Recognitions such as Fellowships of Academies or national/international awards in science & technology.

• Upper Age Limit: 55 years (as on the closing date of application).

Raman Research Institute Recruitment Selection Process

• Candidates will be shortlisted and evaluated by a Search-cum-Selection Committee.
• The committee may also consider nominations from eminent scientists, Fellows of academies, Directors of national laboratories, and Vice-Chancellors of universities.
• In case no suitable application is found, the committee may invite a scientist of high repute directly for consideration.

General Instructions

• The post is regular with a one-year probation.
• Candidates joining after 01.01.2004 will be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
• Applicants working in Government / PSU / Autonomous Bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or a signed undertaking at the time of verification.
• The Institute reserves the right to accept/reject applications and may cancel the recruitment process without notice.
