Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) were established to provide high-quality education to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from Class VI to XII in remote tribal areas. These schools are fully residential, offering separate hostels, staff quarters, playgrounds, and modern facilities.

EMRS Recruitment Educational Qualifications
Principal
- Master’s Degree from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
- Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from an NCTE-recognized institution with at least 50% marks, OR a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from an NCTE-recognized institution with at least 50% marks, OR a four-year integrated graduation degree with at least 50% marks from an NCTE-recognized institution that includes a B.Ed. component.
Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
- Integrated Post Graduate Course from an NCTE-recognized institution with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject and a B.Ed. component.
- OR, a Post Graduation (Master’s) Degree from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks in the subject, AND a B.Ed. Degree from an NCTE-recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)
- A four-year integrated graduation degree course from an NCTE-recognized institution with at least 50% marks in all subjects.
- OR, a Bachelor’s/Honours Degree with at least 50% marks in all subjects individually and in aggregate.
- Must also be qualified in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper-II) conducted by the Government of India.
Art Teacher
- Bachelor’s degree in Drawing and Painting / Sculpture/Graphic Art / Fine Arts/Visual art from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks, having studied Drawing and Painting as a Main subject in all three years of graduation.
Music Teacher
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music / Performing Arts from a UGC-recognized institution with at least 50% marks, having studied Music as a main subject in all three years of the degree.
Physical Education Teacher (PET)
- Four-year integrated B.P. Ed. course from an NCTE-recognized institution with at least 50% marks, OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education / Physical Education and Sports offered by an NCTE-recognized institution, OR a Bachelor’s degree with Physical Education as an elective subject and participation in National or State competitions along with a one-year B.P. Ed..
Librarian
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or Library & Information Science, OR an Integrated Master of Library & Information Science, all with at least 50% marks from a recognized institution.
Female Staff Nurse
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing or a regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University/Institute.
- Registered as a Nurse or Nurse Mid-wife (RN or RM) with any State Nursing Council.
Hostel Warden
- A four-year integrated graduation degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT or other NCTE-recognized institution in the concerned subject, OR a Degree from a recognized university/institute.
Accountant
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from a recognized University/Institute.
Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
- Senior Secondary (Class XII) certificate from a recognized board.
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.
Lab Attendant
- 10th Class Pass with a certificate/diploma in Laboratory technique from a recognized board/institute.
- OR, 12th Class with a Science stream from a recognized board/institute.
